Safety shock absorbers from the SDH and SCS product families optimize this test stand. At the end of a 6-meter acceleration path, they brake the sled equipped with test materials quickly, precisely and reliably. In the process, they reliably dissipate a kinetic energy of up to 32 kJ without rebound. This is the only way to ensure that the sled and the overall structure remain undamaged for subsequent crash measurements. Braking systems for gripper carriages In this design, driven by rodless pneumatic cylinders, two gripper carriages move independently of each other at speeds of 2 to 2.5 m/s. ACE industrial shock absorbers from the product family MC33 to MC64 are used as brake systems, which have to stop a mass of 25 kg up to 540 times per hour in a material-friendly manner. The MC3350 model was used in this case, which allows the sliding stop slides to be adjusted very easily and precisely in the end position. Compared to brakes that work differently, the ACE shock absorbers enable higher travel speeds and shorter cycle sequences. This optimization of the unit in terms of machine loading results in a significant increase in productivity.

Brake components for pneumatic linear modules Pneumatic linear modules in miniature slide systems ensure high speeds with constant repeat accuracy. In this design, pneumatic end-of-travel damping was deliberately omitted and shock absorbers from ACE were used. This is because the compact MC5 to MC75 miniature shock absorbers decelerate the movements more safely and quickly when the end position is reached. They always absorb the mass gently and decelerate evenly over the entire stroke. Impact damping for heavy industrial wood saws In this application, SLAB damping mats SL-030 with a thickness of 12 mm were screwed between two steel sheets over the entire surface in order to protect wooden strips with different weights and impact speeds of approx. 2 m/s. This creates an even damping effect over the whole impact area, which protects the impact surfaces of the battens from an excessive impact load. The minimisation of recoil as well as reduction of noise are further positive side effects of this construction.
Profile Dampers - TUBUS TA

Installed in various linear axes, handling and feed systems, they ensure that there are no uncontrolled impacts of the masses in the end positions.
